Play Summary - Term 3 Weeks 1-2

For the next two weeks you are working in groups to practise and perform a
play. This is using our oral language and reading skills in literacy. Our key
competency focus is participating and contributing.

For writing your task is to summarise the main events in your play in three
paragraphs. You must plan your writing first but it is up to you how you do your
planning.  You must also write a fourth paragraph about your experience of
practising and performing your play.

Three Little Pigs

One day a mother pig tells her three sons Bill, Ben and Bert to go find a home. The sons went
to find a place to build a house. Bill says,”I'm going to build a house of straw.” Ben says,”I’m
going to build a house of sticks.” Bert says,”I’m going to build a house of bricks. So the three
pigs started to build their houses.

Not long after the three pigs finish their houses a wolf comes to town. A Wolf knocked on the
door of Bills house. The Wolf said,”Little pig little pig let me in.” Bill says,”Not by the hair of my
chinny chin chin”. So the wolf blows Bills house down. Bill runs to Ben's house and then the
same process happened again.

Bill and Ben ran to Berts house and told Bert what happened. Bert let them stay at his house
but along came the BIG BAD WOLF. The big bad wolf tried to blow berts house down but failed.
The wolf started to climb on top of the house so then he can go down the chimney but Bert has
an idea. Bert put a big pot of boiling water on the fire. The wolf suddenly appeared down the
chimney but then got burnt in the boiling water and ran away and the three little pigs never saw
him again.

I think that as a team we did very well. We participated and contributed by not arguing about
who we were, we would listen to everybody's idea. I think that our performance was very good.
Next time I think I could improve on having more of a howl.

This Friday we got to choose what we made. My group made mini pizzas. In my group was David, Rhys, Lincoln and me. My group had different flavors on their pizza and I had no pizza. I had no pizza because I didn't feel like having any.

Space timeline Reading tasks.

Term 2 Weeks 5-6

Purpose of this reading activity is to: increase our knowledge of space
exploration and understand how our knowledge and ideas about space have
changed over time (science). We are also learning to read non-fiction texts and
use our writing skills to share our understanding of this topic and our ideas

Focus

We are continuing to look at descriptive writing. This week you are writing a
descriptive piece of writing to promote your imaginary planet. You aim is to
convince people to move to your planet. You want your writing to allow the
reader to be able to imagine what it is like on your planet.

First, we will look at an excerpt of a video describing the moon from the Avatar
movie. Click here to get to video= Pandora.

Second, we will discuss together what you will need in your work to make it
successful and look at how to plan our work. Then you will plan your work and
check with a teacher before you start writing.

Third, do your piece of writing.

Fourth, complete you piece of writing. Remember to proof-read (check spelling
and punctuation) and edit (does it make sense? do you need to change any
sentences?) yourself and with a buddy and fill in your self and
peer-assessment. Check it with a teacher.

My Writing

Kamino

Kamino is a planet made of  kātao (water) in the outer Alex of the
Alex galaxy. If you go to this planet you might get lucky and get
cloned in cloning facilities! You would be allowed to look at the
armies being made. There is a low chance that droid gunship might
attack and that might be bad and a high chance a whole fleet of
droid gunships, tri fighters and vulture droids and droids and
droidekas and that's not so good.  It rains alot but the droids are
waterproof.

To get to my planet you need to be in a spaceship that can enter
hyperspace. When you go in hyperspace you are going faster than
the speed of light. In hyperspace you would be going 299,792
kilometers per second! (I had to get this hyperspace information
from the internet). My planet is 100,000 light years away from earth.
100,000 light years is 9.46073e+17 kilometers.

Kaminoan live on Kamino. They have a long neck, they are very tall,
have long legs and they have long arms. Kaminoan live in cities on
the kātao (water)which are also cloning facilities.

The cities have floaters so that the city doesn’t sink into the ocean.
When one of the floaters breaks then there would be a big evacuation
because the floaters are very very big. There would be lots of people
evacuating the facilities because the facilities can hold 10,000,000
people.

I think that you should go there if you are alright with nearly being
